*Some information below may have changed due to COVID-19 OCNS provides a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program for young children. The OCNS staff welcomes its families in our classrooms. We appreciate that our parents have busy schedules so we offer flexible hours and value the time they volunteer at our schools. OCNS parents value their time with their preschooler and enjoy being a part of the school culture. Parents share their time in the following ways:
1. Being "Parent of the Day" (dates to be determined throughout the school year). This is a parent's time to join the teachers during their child's class (3's & 4's classes only). 2. Serving on a committee to plan special events for the children. 3. Housekeeping - helping with at least one Set-up or Clean-up event during the year to keep our school environment healthy. 4. Remaining with their child at daily sessions as long as teacher deems necessary if there is a separation issue. 5. Participating in fundraising events. 6. Meeting all financial obligations when due and adhering to all OCNS school policies.
In addition, there are more activities for parents who wish to be more involved: Being a room parent Sharing a special talent such as playing an instrument
Please reach out to our teachers if you have any concerns about your family's ability to participate.
All students are required to have new, updated medical forms filed each year. Each parent that will be participating in the classroom will also be required to have a signed statement of health form from their physician and a TB test.
